Module 01 · Mental building blocks · Lesson 8

Get Markup-Free Credits for AI Models Before the Hands-On Exercises Start

How to buy credits on OpenDirector, how many you need for this course, and why they cost less than on other sites.

The Add credits window: packs of 10, 25, 50 and 100 credits, 1 credit = $1 + taxes
Credits are what you spend on every model.

From the next module on, you make things yourself: characters, product images, clips and voices. Every model you use costs a little, and you pay for it with credits. Get them now, so you don't have to stop in the middle of an exercise.

Why you shouldn't skip the prep

What a credit is

  • 1 credit = $1 + taxes. In India you pay in rupees: ₹112 a credit, with GST included.
  • No markup. OpenDirector charges the same price the model maker charges (ByteDance for Seedance, Google for Veo, Kling and the others). We add no fee on top.
  • Any model. The same credits pay for image, video and audio models. You don't buy a plan per model.
  • They never expire. Buy once and use them whenever you like.

The price list in the last lesson is in credits, so you can see exactly what each picture, clip and voice-over will take.

Why it costs less here

Sites like Higgsfield are not model makers. They buy the same models (Seedance, Veo, Kling and others) and sell them to you with their own margin on top, usually inside a monthly plan. OpenDirector passes on the model maker's price as it is. In our own price checks, the same work costs about 50 to 60% less here than on Higgsfield.

How much to buy

To finish AI Video 101, plan on about $20 to 30 in credits. That covers every hands-on exercise: the characters, products and places you build, and the talking-head, street-interview, product-reveal and try-on videos, with a few retries.

  • Just trying it out: 10 credits is enough for your first character sheet and a few short clips.
  • Doing the whole course: 25 credits is the easy choice. Top up later if you need more.
  • Making videos for real work: 50 or 100 credits, so you aren't topping up every week.

You spend less if you draft cheap and short first and only make the final once.

How to buy credits

  1. Go to app.opendirector.co/manage/credits and sign in. (You can also open Manage → Credits in the app.)
  2. You see your credit balance. Press Add credits.
  3. Pick a pack (10, 25, 50 or 100 credits), or type your own number. The window shows exactly what you'll pay before you pay.
  4. The first time, confirm the email your invoices should go to.
  5. Pay. In India you pay in rupees with UPI or a card, GST included. Everywhere else you pay in US dollars by card on a secure checkout page; taxes for your country are added there.
  6. Your credits show up in your balance straight away. If they don't, wait a minute and refresh the page.
Chapter 1: open Credits, press Add credits and pick a pack. Chapter 2: pay on the payment page (not shown here), then your credits are in your balance. Press play, or pick a chapter at the bottom.

If you don't want to run out mid-project, you can also set up auto top-up on the same page: it adds credits by itself when your balance gets low. It's optional; you can pause or remove it any time.
